The Independent View was founded in 2025 as an independent publication that is a member of the College Media Association. Its model is one in which student journalists are advised by professionals and academics with journalistic backgrounds. It is a digital-first organization that provides all aspects of media as learning tools, including online and print. It is an operation that teaches students the proper skills needed for ethical journalism careers while providing them with a training ground that includes all forms of journalism as their educational foundation.
